Oaxaca, Oax., México

The celebration will take place at Restaurante Criollo, located in a neighborhood adjacent to the center of the city of Oaxaca.

At Criollo, Chef Luis Arellano crafts a menu that responds to the seasons and the finest locally available produce, drawing inspiration from the diverse culinary traditions of Oaxaca's coast, valleys, mountains, and Isthmus. The celebration will begin with welcome drinks and canapés, giving guests an opportunity to mingle before the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, a succession of locally inspired savoury and sweet courses will be served, accompanied by a selection of cocktails, mezcal, spirits, wine, and beer, all personally chosen by Ben, Emiliano, and Martha (Emiliano’s Mum). As the evening unfolds, the dance floor will open and celebrations will continue into the early hours, with freshly prepared late-night tacos and cake available for guests to enjoy.

Dress Code

Colores de la Milpa

Colours of the Milpa

Our dress code draws inspiration from the rich colours of the Mexican milpa—the traditional agricultural landscape where maize, beans, squash, flowers, and native plants grow together. We invite guests to wear warm, earthy, and vibrant tones inspired by this landscape: maize golds, terracotta, clay, deep greens, cacao browns, indigo, burgundy, cream, and the occasional vivid pop of bougainvillea pink or marigold orange. Linen, cotton, silk, and other natural fabrics are encouraged.

November is one of the most beautiful times of year to visit Oaxaca. Following the rainy season and the heat of summer, the crops are ripe for harvest, and the skies are typically clear. The days become increasingly temperate, with daytime temperatures generally ranging from 25–30°C, while evenings and early mornings can be surprisingly cool, often dipping to 10–15°C.

We recommend dressing for the warm afternoon and cooler night. Lightweight, breathable clothing will be ideal during the day, with a light jacket or knit available for an evening spent outdoors. Comfortable footwear is also encouraged, as the restaurant’s alfresco dining area is demarcated by pebbles.
